BEAT

Controls

Shot-by-shot reveal. The advance unit is a SHOT (a short phrase), not a whole beat.

/ Light the next / previous WORD (karaoke highlight). Rolls across caption lines and into the next / previous sentence at the ends.
/ Step a whole SEGMENT forward / back (rebuilds that segment's visual).
N / BJump to the next / previous BEAT.
SpaceToggle autoplay (teleprompter). The caption pages one line at a time at reading pace; Shift+Space single-steps a segment.
MToggle Presenter / Subtitle mode (also the Mode button).
O / LToggle auto-open links (also the "Links: off/on" button). OFF by default. When ON, advancing onto a shot that carries links opens each in a new tab, once per shot. Step-back never reopens. Use a Space / Arrow gesture so the browser allows the tabs.
RShow / hide the Resources side panel (also the "Resources" button): docs + links grouped by beat. Pure manual toggle, it does not change the auto setting below.
AToggle Resources AUTO-slide-in (also the "Res auto: on/off" button). ON by default, persisted. When ON, reaching a beat/sentence segment that carries a doc or links auto-opens the pane (a doc jumps to + highlights its line). Independent of R.
WPush mode for the Resources pane (also the "⇆ Push" header button): reflow the slide to the LEFT of the pane instead of overlaying it. Persisted.
/ / GCommand palette: search across beat titles, spoken captions, on-slide drawn text, and resources, then jump to a beat or open a resource. Type to filter, ↑/↓ to move, ↵ to go, Esc to close. (Also click the BEAT count in the toolbar.)
HHide / show the left script pane. When shown (presenter mode), drag the splitter at its right edge to resize it; double-click the splitter to reset. The width is remembered across reloads.
THide / show the top toolbar (the control bar with the buttons and speed slider).
PPresent: right pane full-bleed.
DDraw-on overlay (annotate live with the mouse).
CToggle captions on/off in presenter mode.
DragDrag the caption to move it to any part of the screen. Drag the bottom-right grip to resize it (left/right = width, up/down = text size). Double-click the caption to reset it to the default bottom-center. The layout is remembered across reloads.
XClear the draw-on overlay.
19Set autoplay speed (1x is natural speaking pace). Press the same digit again to step the fraction: 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75.
SpeedSlider sets autoplay speed, 0.5x to 20x.
S / EJump to the START / END of the current sentence. S resets it to the first word; E reveals the whole sentence (last word highlighted). Both pause autoplay.
? / EscToggle / close this help.
Subtitle mode = the recording surface: left pane hidden, captions render large at bottom-center, visuals build above. The caption is draggable + resizable - move it anywhere and size it (double-click to reset). Opening a link in a new tab auto-pauses; closing it and returning auto-resumes where it left off.
